Smart & Motor
1. Q: The EVE motor turns on and off once a day, and power off very quickly.
A: The EVE motor normally needs to be charged once a month, we suggest you can put a solar panel to keep it charging all the time.
2. Q: The motor is noisy.
A: Add some lubricating oil to the motor side.
3. Q: When press the reset button on the motor of cellular shade, it didn't jog.
A: Please check if the battery compartment connection cable is in poor contact. After reinserting, you can hear a click.
4. Q: Why I use echo to connect with alexa, it doesn't work?
A: First please make sure if it is one of these devices: the Echo plus (2nd Gen), Echo Show (2nd Gen), Echo Studio, Echo Show 10 (3rd Gen) and Echo (4th Gen), Echo show8(3nd gen),echo hub. Second, please check if the limit position has been set already? It means the shade will stop by itself at certain place. Third, please check if you use the correct voice command? It should be Alexa, open/close xxx to 0-100%, for example: if you'd like to fully open the blind, you need to say "Alexa, open xxx to 0".
The complete process about how to connect with alexa is:
Please hold the reset button on the motor until the blind jogs twice (2 x up and down). Then let it go, blue light will flash. It means the motor is in the pairing more. Finally, say "Alexa, discover my devices."
After the blind is discovered by the Echo, you can try voice commands "Alexa, open/close xxx to 0-100%“. For example, if you'd like to fully open the blind, you need to say "Alexa, open xxx to 0".
5. Q: How many hubs should I buy?
A: One hub can control 16 blinds, but it should be far from the shade within 6 meters.We suggest you can put one hub in one room.
6. Q: After the BLE motor is connected to the hub, it is impossible to create a scene in graywind.
A: Please check if the shade is in the BLE hub-sub device and notice if the hub is correct one.
7. Q: When I use remote to control the vertical blind, the blind does not move.
A: Please check if the motor is close to the rail, need to be very closly.
8. Q: Why I have the correct ble hub, but some of my blinds still can not work correctly with my graywind app?
A: Please check this video, https://youtu.be/HNxWXpONiOk, and please notice that you must connect with these shades via graywind gateway.
9. Q: What's the voice control of vertical blinds when connect with alexa?
A: Alexa commands:
Fully open: Alexa, turn on xxx.
Fully close: Alexa, turn off xxx.
Rotate: Alexa, open/close xxx to 0~100%".
10. Q: I lost my remote but the blind connects Graywind App well. I cannot open my blind to the top of the valance. How I can solve this problem?
A: Enter Graywind App, right bottom corner···Limit Settings → Upper Limit Settings. Please delete the upper limit and move the blind to the top. Reset upper limit, and the blind will full open.
11. Q: When I hold T button for many seconds, there is still no sun icon shown on the screen.
A: Please check if you are in group setting mode? It means there is triangle button on the screen. If there is , you need to keep pressing the right arrow button, until there is no triangle button on the screen, then you can enter in setting mode.
Blinds-related
1. Q: What does it mean that side by side of zebra blind?
A: Zebra blinds of the same height can be made side by side, which means that the patterns are aligned when they are om the bottom position.
2. Q: What's the size of roller shade valance?
A: The valance of fabric wrapped cassette and mantal are both 2.875"W * 3"H, no cassette size is 1.75"W * 3"H
3. Q: Why there exits 1 inch gap for the roller?
A: Due to the design of roller shade, there will be 0.6 inch space for the charging port, the 0.4 inch for the other side. If you do care the gap, do you think light blockers will help you solve this issue? If you do not like light blockers, we'd suggest a cellular shade with less gap (0.1 inch eighter side) for inside mount.
4. Q: Can we clean the roller shade?
A: Use wet tissue to wipe slightly.
5. Q: What's the length of the solar panel wire?
A: 7.875", if you think it is not long enough, there is extension cord on our shop. It almost 59".
6. Q: How can I change the opening direction of vertical blinds?
A: If you want to change from left stack to right stack, we just need to flip the track around by 180 degrees. Please note if this is a motorized blind, after turning it around, the motor position will also be changed.
7. Q: How much over lap each panel gives from each other?
A: For manual sliding panels, the overlap is 8cm. For motorized sliding panels, the overlap is 12cm.
Trouble-shoot
1. Q: What should I do if the Shangrila shade is uneven?
A: Adjust the slider on the bottom bar and adjust it to the direction where it uneven.
2. Q: When the curtains are opened, you can hear a regular noise.
A: Please check if the screws of the connecting parts on the track have fallen off, please just install the screws.
3. Q: The bottom bar of roller shade is stuck and cannot be moved.
A: First remove the side cover and bottom bar, then reinstall it. After doing these, please set limit position of the shade.
4. Q: The string of the skylight curtain is stuck in the middle of the track.
A: Reinstall the tracks in the order of the K labels on the tracks
5. Q: Why my vertical blind can only adjust little angle when I use remote to adjust.
A: You should install the slats wrong, please notice that the plastic should be one direction and it should be vertical, you can use the small mental wand to adjust.
6. Q: How to solve the uneven angled shade?
A: Please take the side cover of the bottom rod down. The white one can be rotated, and the black one is stationary. Pull the white one out and rotate, please slightly hold the bottom rod when adjust it. The shade will go up and when rotating it clockwise. And it will go down when rotating anticlockwise. Push it inward and then install the side cover of the bottom rod.
7. Q: How to adjust the angle of the shangrila shade?
A: Firstly, please notice that only in the most bottom position of shangrila shade, you can adjust the angle. And the correct voice command is " Alexa, open XX (device name) to 95%-99%".
8. Q: The roller shade gets wrinkled, and how can we fix this?
A: If just slight wrink, please hang for serval days, if serious, please contact with our customer service for further solution.
9. Q: Can you provide better brackets to shorten the gap from the wall to the valance?
A: Shorter Brackets will shorten the gap to 0.5 inch more or less. But it depends on your height. You can remark your requirment in your order so that we will arrange accordingly.
10. Q: The vertical blind works in reverse. Even Alexa controls are reversed. When I tell the app to open the slide curtain, it closes it. And vice versa. The rotation of the blinds is reversed as well. How can I change this reverse operation?
A: You need to set routine on the app to change revise the direction.
11. Q: Why the panels of vertical blinds always fall off?
A: Please check the installation is correct, refer to the video.
12. Q: What can be done if the sliding panels are too long in height?
A: Take the panels down from the track, unscrew the screw on the side of the panel and the fabric can be taken out, cut the panels to the desired length.
13. Q: Why the first panel of sliding panels is not catching the second panel when opening/closing?
A: To fully open the panels and stack them to one side. Check if the panels are aligned from the sides. If the panels are not aligned when stacking to one side, we need to adjust the panels. See this video for reference.
14. Q: What can I do if the vertical blinds are too long?
A: Please take down the slats from the track, and take the hooks down from the top of the slats and cut the blinds to the desired length. Then reassemble the blinds.
